, Head of the and , Senior Lecturer in the , have teamed up to present a paper at the international Conference: ‘Annie Ernaux: Global Perspectives’ at the University of Edinburgh and the University of St Andrews.
Their joint presentation, entitled ‘Teaching and Translating Annie Ernaux’s '³¢â€™Ã©vé²Ô±ð³¾±ð²Ô³Ù' in the Maltese context’, which explored the significance of their professional engagement with this French writer’s work as well as its specific challenges, was enthusiastically received by the academic community.
Ernaux received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2022 “for the courage and clinical acuity with which she uncovers the roots, estrangements and collective restraints of personal memoryâ€. The conference included a live virtual encounter with the author herself, who responded to a number of questions.
