University of Malta academic has been elected to the Network executuve board of the during the annual general meeting held last week.
He joins Sergio Servell贸n (ICOM Belgium), Zane Gr墨nvalde (Latvian Museums Association), Vera Canasso (Director, Dutch Museums Association), Paulina Florjanowicz (Director General, Polish National Institute for Museums), Sylvia Willkomm (Director, German Museums Association), Zane Grinvalde (Chairperson, Lativan Museums Association) and NEMO Chairperson Petra Havu (CEO, Finnish Museums Association) in leading the network and contributing to its vision over the coming years.
This is the first time ever that a Maltese national has been elected to the executive board of what is considered to be the most important museum network in Europe representing over 30,000 museums. This year鈥檚 annual conference, held in Sibiu (Rumania), focused on the vital role museums can play in today鈥檚 challenged democracies, with particular reference to addressing political intrusion in their operations across the institution.
