Mr Chris Gruppetta, a Visiting Lecturer at UM, and Ms Clare Azzopardi, a Senior Lecturer at Junior College, have been appointed as members of the New Literature Committee at the Malta Entertainment Industry and Arts Association (MEIA).
The Committee will work to continue promoting the literary arts in Malta. It will also focus on addressing pressing challenges faced by those in the local literary ecosystem and providing support to those shaping Malta鈥檚 literary landscape.
Co-Chair, Mr Chris Gruppetta, who studied Law at UM, and a Master's in Publishing Studies in Aberdeen, is a visiting lecturer at UM on literary editing and the history of children鈥檚 literature.
Ms Clare Azzopardi, a Senior Lecturer at Junior College, has taught Maltese literature for over 25 years.
Other members of the Committee include MEIA Chair, Francesco Grech, writer Rita Saliba, poet Matthew Schembri, and publisher Joseph Mizzi.
MEIA represents creators, performers, promoters, producers, suppliers & all technical people who work in the entertainment and arts industry.
Over the next few months, the committee will be leading a range of initiatives designed to promote creativity and foster collaboration, all the while increasing the global visibility of Malta鈥檚 literary heritage.
