Prof. Frank Camilleri from the Department of Theatre Studies within the School of Performing Arts was recently awarded the first edition of the International Prize for 'Sport and Theatre in Education and Training' at the University of Urbino Carlo Bo. Prof. Piero Sestili, President of the School of Motor Sciences (Department of Biomolecular Sciences), presented the award to Camilleri.
In his speech, Sestili referred to Camilleri's monograph (Bloomsbury 2023) as a seminal publication that contributed significantly to knowledge in the field. The award ceremony was held at the Petriccio Educational Centre on 3 April 2025, where Camilleri also gave a lecture and then a work session for students of the General Pedagogy Course. During the same week, Camilleri had a research encounter with the Aenigma University Theatre.
The events took place within the framework of the 'Sport, Theatre, Education and Training' project by Prof. Rosella Persi and Vito Minoia.
