Final-year theatre studies students are staging an original theatre production titled Murder on the Dancefloor which is set to open this coming May.
The story follows two friends. One here. One there. On a dancefloor. Is there something holding them back? Or do they need to say what they feel before leaving forever? And will having to go through a traumatic experience allow them to fully move on?
'Murder on the Dancefloor,' is an original script written by Brendon Thearle and Julia Camilleri which follows two characters: Kate – played by Angelique Attard, and Emily – played by Monique Falzon, who meet for potentially the last time.
One is no longer part of this world but wants one last party on the dancefloor with their best friend and another is still alive in this world but doesn’t want to say goodbye forever to their dance partner and best friend.
The performance will be on Friday 2 and Saturday 3 May at 19:30 and will be taking place at Valletta Campus Theatre. The recommended age rating for the production is 15+ as the piece will include strong language and some distressing scenes.
Tickets are free of charge with a possible donation by the door and are available through Eventbrite.
Murder on the Dancefloor is proudly supported by the within the University of Malta’s School of Performing Arts.
