To mark the International Day for Safety and Health at Work, the (OHSA), in collaboration with the (EU-OSHA), hosted a dedicated event on managing psychosocial risks in the workplace.
Dr Luke Fiorini, Director and Senior Lecturer at the Centre for Labour Studies, delivered the keynote address, presenting recent research on mental health at work in Malta.
His talk examined the psychosocial risks affecting employee well-being and highlighted current and potential strategies Maltese organisations are using to address these challenges.
The keynote sparked a wide-ranging discussion among participants鈥攊ncluding representatives from government bodies, professional associations, employer groups, trade unions, and educators鈥攐n the mental health landscape in Malta, the difficulties faced by both employees and employers, and forward-looking solutions.
OHSA CEO Dr Josianne Cutajar emphasised the Authority鈥檚 commitment to fostering dialogue and collaboration.
She noted that a key objective of the event was to assess the local situation, map out existing support services, and propose actionable measures to enhance mental well-being at work.
The session concluded with closing remarks from the Minister for Justice and Construction Sector Reform, Hon. Jonathan Attard.
