Lobna Ben Salem is Associate Professor of Comparative Literature at the Faculty of Letters, Arts, and Humanities, Manouba University, Tunisia. Her contribution in the Erasmus+ ICM Teaching Mobility Programme at the University of Malta took the form of two seminars focused on postcolonial scholarship, specifically exploring themes of (neo)orientalism and postcolonial trauma in African literature. These sessions sparked dynamic discussions with students and faculty, offering a valuable space for critical engagement with global literary discourses. This experience was personally enriching, allowing her to share her research in a new academic environment while learning from diverse perspectives. The exchange fostered meaningful academic connections and deepened her understanding of cross-cultural pedagogies, making it a truly impactful and memorable chapter in her professional journey.
Professor Lobna Ben Salem was welcomed warmly and generously by both faculty and students at the Department of English, which immediately created a sense of belonging and ease. Their openness and genuine interest in engaging with the topics she presented made the experience both enjoyable and intellectually fulfilling.
Last but not least, the Erasmus+ Teaching Mobility Programme provided an excellent platform for networking with international colleagues, fostering collaborations that have the potential to grow into long-term academic partnerships.
