A key component of FEMA’s practice-oriented and applied learning philosophy, the week-long visit offered participants a deep and immersive experience across three diverse regions in southern Poland. The visit culminated in strategic presentations delivered by the Malta MBA cohort to academics from the University of Bielsko-Biała, the University of Economics in Katowice, and discussions with regional enterprise stakeholders.
Led by , Dean of FEMA, and , MBA Programme Coordinator, the study visit featured a robust programme of engagements, involving regional presidents and authorities, investment agencies, business leaders, university business schools, startup incubators, and social enterprises – deliberately selected across strategic locations: Krakow, Katowice, the city of Bielsko-Biała, and the rural commune of Milowska. Together, these settings offered a unique lens on business development, sustainability, socio economic transformation, and industrial evolution in the region.
Participants found the international study visit highly enriching, both professionally and culturally. The experience not only reinforced applied learning and networking opportunities but also strengthened camaraderie within the cohort.
FEMA also held promising discussions for future collaboration with faculty from the University of Bielsko-Biała, and with the University of Economics in Katowice. Similar discussions were also held with officials and the President of Bielsko-Biała.
Special thanks go to Dr Paulina Żmijowska and Dr Dagmara Mika respectively from the universities of Katowice, and Bielsko-Biała – whose tireless efforts were instrumental in the success of the visit. Gratitude is also extended to Dr Agnieszka Zelinska, Mr Bartosz Dębowski, and Ms Jennifer Vella for their valued involvement and contributions.
FEMA commends the MBA cohort for making the most of this international opportunity and looks forward to exploring further collaborative avenues with the Polish academic and regional institutions..
