Prof. Frank Bezzina, Pro-Rector for International Development and Quality Assurance, participated in the 7th NUSCT Rectors’ Meeting that was hosted by the University of the Faroe Islands, in Tórshavn on 4 June 2025. The meeting brought together rectors and rectors’ delegates from the near totality of Europe’s small countries and territories in a blended format, with on-site and online participation.
This network consists of 12 Universities: the University of Andorra, the University of Akureyri, the Aland University of Applied Sciences, the University of Faroe Islands, the University of Gibraltar, the University of Greenland, the University of Lichtenstein, the Mediterranean University, the University of Montenegro, the University of Nicosia, the University of the Republic of San Marino, and the University of Malta. During this meeting, the Agenda included the approval of the minutes of the 6th NUSCT Rector’s Annual meeting held at the University of Gibraltar on 22 April 2024, a discussion about NUSCT activities and the future of NUSCT, a short recap of the first NUSCT conference “Making History in Small Countries and Territories: Universities, Historians and Societies” held on 1-3 June 2026, and a discussion on the next NUSCT three-year Presidency. This was followed by a guided tour of the ruins of the Magnus Cathedral in Kirkjubøur and dinner at the medieval farm house Roykstovanr, courtesy of the University of the Faroe Islands.
