The University of Malta has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Chiba University of Commerce in Tokyo, marking a significant milestone in international academic collaboration. The signing ceremony took place at Chiba University of Commerce and was attended by the presence of UM鈥檚 Pro-Rector, Prof. Frank Bezzina, and the President of Chiba University of Commerce, Prof. Midori Miyazaki.
During the ceremony, both institutions exchanged symbolic gifts and engaged in productive discussions about future collaborative initiatives. These include, but are not limited to, student exchange programmes and study abroad opportunities in Malta. These initiatives are envisioned as the first step towards broader cooperation, paving the way for larger-scale projects between the two universities.
Prior to the signing, the UM delegation was given a comprehensive tour of Chiba University of Commerce, providing an opportunity to explore the campus and its facilities. This visit further strengthened the mutual understanding and rapport between the two institutions, setting a positive tone for future endeavors.
