The Malta Association of Biomedical Scientists is an autonomous, non-profit organisation, concerned with all matters related to the science of pathology. It is a body of science professionals who foster and advocate excellence in the practice, education and management of Medical Laboratory Sciences.
Abstracts for oral and poster presentations are invited on any of the following specialties of Applied Biomedical Science; microbiology, haematology, biochemistry, histopathology and cytology, genetics, blood transfusion medicine and immunology and related disciplines. 
Abstract Submission Guidelines
MABS is welcoming three abstract categories: a) Research study b) Case study and c) General topic
Each abstract should not exceed 300 words.
a) Research study abstracts should be in line with the following guidelines:
  (i) indicate the specific purpose of the study
  (ii) describe the methodology used to achieve the purpose, specifying sample size
  (iii) present the key findings with supporting evidence
  (iv) present the conclusions based on the data provided
  (v) highlight the novelty of the work.
b) Case study abstracts should be in line with the following guidelines:
  (i) present the clinical background
  (ii) describe the methodology used to study the case
  (iii) present the key findings
  (iv) highlight the conclusions and learning outcomes from the case study
  Interdisciplinary case studies will be given preference.
Abstracts should not include references, figures or tables. All abbreviations should be defined when they appear in the text for the first time. Abstracts should be edited carefully and thoroughly before submission. Funding support declarations may be included and should not be considered in the word count.
Abstracts should be submitted through this by 6 March, 2022 at 23:59 (GMT+1).
Researcher(s) details should not appear on the Abstract field.
All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the MABS Scientific Committee.
For an accepted abstract to be included in the final scientific programme it is mandatory for the presenting author to register attendance for the conference.
