Extended Scholarship Deadline: 10 August 2025
Applications are invited for a scholarship to read for the dual degree “Masters of Arts in Conflict Resolution and Mediterranean Security†(the “P°ù´Ç²µ°ù²¹³¾³¾±ðâ€) delivered by the Centre for the Study and; Practice of Conflict Resolution (“C±ð²Ô³Ù°ù±ðâ€) in association with George Mason University, Virginia, USA.
Scholarship Details:
1. The scholarship will cover the full cost of tuition fees
2. The scholarship awardee will join the Centre as an intern for the duration of the scholarship, and will be expected to contribute to the tasks and activities of the Centre during office hours aside from the established lecturing hours, for a period not exceeding 20 hours a week
3. The scholarship has a duration of one year and commences with the start date of the programme for 2025-2026. The selected candidate will be required to start their studies on a full-time basis when the programme commences in September 2025.
4. The scholarship is open to Maltese residents and/or citizens.

5. Contact details (including email addresses) of two (2) academic referees.
Selection Criteria:
Selection will be based on the following criteria:
1. Programme Admission: The candidate must have received an unconditional offer of acceptance into the MA Conflict Resolution and Mediterranean Security programme at the University of Malta, which application must be submitted separately and by no later than 10 August 2025.
2. Academic Excellence: Applicants must be in possession of a second class upper division undergraduate level degree (or equivalent), with particular focus on disciplines related to conflict studies, international relations, peacebuilding, or social sciences. Students who are currently in their final year of studies will be considered subject to successful completion of their programme of studies.
3. Undergraduate Student Engagement: The candidate must have demonstrable active participation in student life during undergraduate studies (e.g., leadership roles, student organisations, volunteering, or campus initiatives).
4. Cultural and Social Awareness: The candidate must have knowledge of Malta’s social and cultural life, as well as familiarity with student life at the University of Malta.
5. Peer Support and Community Contribution: The candidate must have clear commitment to assisting other students, particularly international peers, in integrating into Maltese society and the University environment.
6. Program Ambassadorship: The candidate must have willingness to contribute to the visibility and promotion of the Programme during the study period and as part of the alumni community.
5. Selection Procedure:
- 1. Candidates may be required to attend an interview following shortlisting of applicants for the scholarship;
