In the last lecture of the study-unit that explores worker participation and employee involvement, students following the Bachelor's degree in Work and Human Resources (HR) at UM's Centre for Labour Studies, led by Prof. Godfrey Baldacchino and Prof. Manwel Debono, were hosted by to discuss the implementation of their Employee Suggestion Scheme, which has been running since 1996. During this session, the Head of HR Mr Tonio Mifsud Bonnici, assisted by Talent Development Manager Ms Rosette Thake, shared critical insights on the “All Ideas Matter” (AIM) suggestion scheme that recognises and rewards employees for submitting ideas that improve work processes and the challenges that they face in the changing Maltese employment landscape. The visit ended with a guided tour of the Farsons Brewery experience which focuses on the social and industrial history of the Farsons Group.
This study unit also included study visits to the Department of Industrial and Employment Relations, the General Workers' Union, and the ReCoop worker cooperative.
