The 3rd Annual Networking Event was held on 5 and 6 November 2018 in Leuven, Belgium. Other delegates from the University of Cambridge and from KU Leuven also attended the networking event. This was the closing, final meeting of TrainMALTA.

Four of the seven Maltese members presented their ongoing research at the Leuven meeting, titled 鈥淕enomics for Diagnosis of Rare Diseases鈥�. These well-received talks covered several topics including Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), Bioinformatics and Cancer Research projects on-going locally.
The Maltese group consisted of Dr Rosienne Farrugia, Ms Chanelle Cilia, Ms Jessica Debattista, Ms Francesca Borg Carbott from the Faculty of Health Sciences; Dr Analisse Cassar, Ms Oriana Mazzitelli from the Faculty of Medicine and Dr Jean-Paul Ebejer from the Centre for Molecular Medicine and Biobanking.
