The Hop-On Call is a funding opportunity under Horizon Europe that allows organisations from Malta to join ongoing Horizon Europe Pillar II or EIC Pathfinder.

The HORIZON-WIDERA-2026-03-WIDENING-01 Call
Hop-On Facility facilitates the participation of Widening Countries (incl. Malta) in Horizon Europe by enabling entities to join, contribute, and add value to work packages and other activities of ongoing projects.

Proposal Requirements
Hop-On is a great opportunity to join Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Actions. The call invites entities from widening countries to:

• Identify suitable existing projects to join.
• The existing project must not already have a widening partner.
• Facilitate the inclusion of a new participant from a widening country.
• Enhance the collaborative potential of the new participant.
• Ensure the new participant contributes meaningfully to the objectives of the project.

Funding and Budget Allocation
The action is 100% funded, and the EU contribution ranges from EUR 0.20 million to 0.60 million.

• A maximum of 10% of the grant can be allocated to the coordinator as a coordination fee for integrating the new widening beneficiary.
• A minimum of 90% of the grant must be allocated to the widening beneficiary.
