The Zoom client features a redesigned Settings menu for a more logical and intuitive experience.

When you access the Settings, you will notice the following key changes:

• General - This now focuses more on system-level settings, as meeting-related preferences moved to the new Meetings & webinars tab.
• Video & effects - Camera selection, virtual background and video filters are now all combined in one place to easily control everything related to your on-screen appearance without jumping between tabs.
• Notifications & sounds - This brings together all notification and sound settings previously scattered across multiple categories.
• Meetings & webinars - All general settings that affect your in-meeting experience have been consolidated here, making them easier to find and manage.
• Share screen - This tab is now organised into three clear sub-categories: When other share, When I share and Share button behaviour.

Zoom's AI meeting companion is designed to boost productivity by automating note-taking and summaries.

The AI meeting companion currently features:

• Ask questions - Hosts with a UM staff account can enable this during the meeting, allowing participants to ask the AI companion questions about topics covered so far.
• Meeting summary - If enabled, the host, co-hosts and alternative hosts, if any, will automatically receive an AI-generated summary of the meeting. During the meeting, hosts can choose to share the summary with all participants. After the meeting has ended, the host can edit the summary, if necessary.
• Smart recording (Staff only) - This feature is restricted to UM staff users and works when recording a meeting to the cloud. It generates intelligent outputs, including recording highlights, summary, smart chapters, and next steps for post-meeting review.

University staff can now schedule Zoom meetings for up to 500 participants.

Additionally, University staff can now also schedule a Zoom webinar for up to 500 attendees. Zoom webinars are suitable for large-scale events where participants usually only interact via Q&As and chat (e.g. information sessions, conferences, seminars, etc).

Zoom's Language interpretation is a powerful tool for hosting accessible and multilingual meetings and webinars. This feature allows hosts to seamlessly integrate human interpreters who can provide real-time, simultaneous interpretation through dedicated audio channels for participants.

The Multispeaker view helps make meetings more engaging by automatically drawing focus to those who are speaking. Instead of a static grid, this view dynamically adjusts the layout to highlight up to four active speakers at a time, while still keeping other participants visible in a smaller gallery below.
