Dr Michael Briguglio, a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Sociology, has been elected on the board of RN25 Social Movements within the European Sociological Association alongside other 8 European academics from Sweden, Italy, Czech republic, Switzerland, Germany and the United kingdom.
(ESA) is a non-profit Europe-wide association made up of 2800 members, held its 15th Conference online during the first week of September. ESA aims to facilitate sociological research, teaching and communication between sociologists, sociologists and other scientists, and to give sociology a voice in European affairs. Its main focus is the development of sociological knowledge.
The association holds a list of research networks each addressing a different Sociological topic , this research network aims to advance sociological and interdisciplinary research of contentious politics, protest and social movements.
Dr Michael Briguglio now forms a part of the research network. The aim of RN25 is to create new contacts and strengthen existing networks among researchers studying social movements across disciplines and geographical regions as well as to further develop scientific research on the subject in Europe and globally. The scholars forming the RN25 present their research at the ESA General and Mid Term Conferences.
