The (PLANCKS) is a prestigious annual physics competition that brings together some of the brightest young minds in physics from around the world. In 2023, for the first time ever, a team from Malta will be competing in PLANCKS, and we couldn't be more excited.
The team, comprising of undergraduate students from the University of Malta, will be competing against teams from some of the world's top universities in a series of challenging physics problems. The competition will take place in May 2023 at the University of Milan.
The competition is organized by the International Association of Physics Students (IAPS), which is a global organization that aims to promote the exchange of ideas and knowledge among physics students from around the world. PLANCKS is one of the IAPS's flagship events, and it attracts participants from more than 25 countries.
Participating in PLANCKS is not just about winning; it's also about learning, networking, and having fun. The competition provides an opportunity for students to test their knowledge and skills in physics, as well as to meet other physics enthusiasts from around the world. The event also includes a social program, which allows participants to explore the host country and to interact with each other in a relaxed and informal setting.
The Maltese team, consisting of Dimitar Petrov, Roman Farrugia, Arsanious Williams Saadalla and Johnathan Farrugia, is currently in the process of preparing for the competition, and they are working hard to hone their skills and knowledge in physics. They are being mentored by some of our University鈥檚 top physics professors, who are providing them with guidance and support.
Participating in PLANCKS is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the Maltese team, and we wish them all the best in the competition. We hope that their participation will inspire other Maltese students to pursue physics and to take part in similar international competitions in the future.
