Ms Janet Richard, a student at the University’s Faculty for Social Wellbeing, has excelled on the athletic front.
Together with Mr Jared Micallef, Ms Richard was crowned Athlete of the Year by , which is the highest honour for Maltese athletes.
Ms Richard has already brought home a number of prestigious accolades for the country throughout the year, with this being the third time she has retained this incredible result, and her having had a successful season at the Games of Small States of Europe (GSSE) held in Malta earlier this year.
She recently won no less than four medals:
Individual gold for Malta in 400m race Individual bronze for Malta in 200m race As part of the national relay team, gold in the 4 x 100 As part of the national relay team, silver in the 4 x 400 (at the European Team Championships in Silesia, Poland)
In the latter instance, she established a new national record, completing the one-lap race in 52.37.
