The University of Malta will be participating in the second edition of the Public Service Expo, which promises to bring together all Public Administration under one roof, showcasing the best digital tools the Public Service makes use of.
More varied attractions will be on display this year, building on the first edition’s success. A cinema will feature exclusive archives footage with a nostalgic view of Malta’s history, together with displays by the disciplines forces about their crucial role in safeguarding the country’s security.
The Expo will include internal conferences addressing pertinent issues such as skills development, training and innovation and the professional growth of public officers.
The University’s role in addressing, enhancing and strengthening skills sets in various industries has been recognised not just on a national level, but even at international one. Just as an example, it was recently awarded the European Social Funds (ESF) to address the matter in teaching and research laboratories.
The Public Service Expo was launched in 2023 by Head of Public Service, Mr Tony Sultana, spearheading efforts to modernise Public Service that “don’t stop with technology, as it is also a matter of mentality with the introduction of new practices, more relevant procedures and innovative tools among others.” The idea of holding an Expo in fact also came about as part of the vision of the Public Service having a new identity.
The Expo will be open for the general public, for free between 15 and 19 May 2024 at the MFCC in Ta’ Qali. Registration is required .
