Final-year theatre studies students Angelique Attard, Brendon Thearle, and Monique Falzon are set to launch Pause & Play, a dynamic performing arts festival running from 9 to 11 May in the heart of Valletta. This student-led initiative, part of their final-year project, aims to create a space for reflection, connection, and artistic celebration.
Pause & Play is a festival where creativity takes centre stage, inviting the audience to explore the magic of the performing arts. Over three immersive days, artists will bring their creative ideas to life, while attendees are encouraged to engage, reflect, and play in ways that feel natural to them. From moments of quiet introspection to bursts of uninhibited joy, the festival highlights how art fosters deeper connections between individuals and their surrounding community.
With a diverse lineup of over 15 events, Pause & Play offers something for everyone, including theatre performances, dance showcases, a drag show, and stand-up comedy. The festival is designed as a platform for young artists to share their creativity and engage with the audience in a profound way.

The festival will unfold across three venues, with the University of Malta’s Valletta Campus serving as the main hub, hosting performances spread across its ground floor.
Additional events will take place at Wild Honey Beer House & Bistro and MaeWest, both within walking distance of the main venue.
