& UM’s have joined forces to offer a post-graduate scholarship in breast cancer research.
The scholarship, which is funded by the local NGO, is an opportunity for the chosen individual to work on a project to study the mechanisms of metastasis in breast cancer, under the tutorship of two leading academics at the University of Malta.
Other than the benefit of working with from the Department of Pathology and from the Department of Physiology and Biochemistry in the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, you will also be paving the way for more timely and much-needed studies on finding better ways to prevent, detect or cure what is one of the leading causes of mortality locally and across the globe.
With breast cancer , cancer research has never been more important.
If you are:
• eligible for Ph.D. studies at the University of Malta;
• familiar with qualitative research methods;
• familiar with immunohistochemistry techniques, real-time PCR technology & cell culturing;
then you are exactly who we’re looking for.
A basic maintenance allowance of €12,000 per annum for a maximum of three years, as well as a maximum of €15,000 to cover University bench fees and other related expenses will be given.
