SGroup BIP on Energy: Towards a Sustainable Energy System: Challenges and Opportunities

The Institute for Sustainable Energy of the University of Malta (UM), jointly with a group of other Universities forming part of the SGroup will be offering their students the opportunity to participate in a Blended Intensive Programme (BIPs). One-hour online lectures will be held in June 2024 and face-to-face experience in Valladolid, Spain (15-19 July 2024).
The main objectives of this BIP are to raise awareness of the importance of energy sustainability and of the alignment with SDGs – ONU and European Union policies and also to raise discussion about technological and social challenges.
Eligibility:
PhD, Masters, Final-Year and if places available also students moving on to Final-Year in October 2024 in the area of Engineering.
Course details:
The BIP course will focus on traditional and emerging renewable energy applications and the face-to-face sessions will include visits to real operating systems.
Physical Mobility in Valladolid, Spain: 15-19 July 2024
Virtual Mobility: Six (6) online afternoon sessions (1 hour each) in June 2024 (dates to be confirmed)

Awarded ECTS credits to successful participants: 3 ECTS

Selection process:
A total of 5 students will be selected for funding and 2 students will be placed on the reserve list, on a first-come first-served basis.
Funding:
All selected students will receive an Erasmus+ grant through the International Office, which will partially cover the expenses incurred abroad. Grants are made up of three components:
- Travel contribution (€275)
- Individual support (subsistence contribution of €79 per day). This will cover up to one day prior to the start and up to one day after the end of the physical mobility.
