Campus 103.7

As of 1 October 2024, Campus 103.7 was formally integrated into the Media, Communications & Alumni Office (MCAO) of the University of Malta. This marked an important milestone in the station’s development, strengthening its institutional positioning within the University, while the radio broadcasting licence continued to be held by Malta University Holding Company Ltd.

For the first time since its inception, Campus 103.7 played an active role in the University’s Freshers’ Week, broadcasting live for an entire week from the Gateway Building area. This initiative significantly increased the station’s visibility among new students, staff, and visitors, reinforcing its role as the University’s official radio voice. Following this, a full and structured programme schedule was launched, with several programmes running consistently throughout the academic year and extending until June 2025.

Throughout this period, Campus 103.7 remained fully committed to its mission statement, with a strong focus on cultural and educational broadcasting. The station continued to prioritise content that highlights and promotes the research, activities, initiatives, and events taking place across the University of Malta. A notable enhancement to the station’s editorial output was the introduction of a weekly UM Newspoint bulletin, which is broadcast twice weekly during live shows. This addition further strengthened the station’s role as a key information hub for the University community and the wider public.

Through a series of strategic collaborations and sponsorship agreements, Campus 103.7 successfully attracted a growing number of companies interested in advertising on the station. One such collaboration resulted in a cruise holiday prize, which was offered as the main giveaway in the station’s morning breakfast competition and drawn at the end of the broadcasting schedule. Additional collaborations and institutional support were secured from Arts Council Malta, Orange Travel, the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, Teatru Manoel, Heritage Malta, Vassallo Group, Consolidated Biscuits, Midsea Books, among others. These partnerships not only contributed to the station’s sustainability but also enriched its cultural and artistic content.

In parallel, Campus 103.7 continued to invest significantly in its broadcasting infrastructure with the aim of improving technical quality and production standards. This included the acquisition of new technologies, advanced broadcasting equipment, and the development of state-of-the-art studio facilities. Studio 3 was completed in 2024, while in 2025 work commenced on the link room upgrade, which is currently in its final stages and represents the completion of this major infrastructure project.

During the 2024–2025 period, a significant increase in audience listenership was recorded in the . The station’s audience rating rose from 1.5% to 3.6%, reflecting a marked growth in reach and engagement. This increase can be attributed to several key factors, including a substantial rise in programme production output, the engagement of more experienced and seasoned producers, a broader and more diverse programme offering aimed at reaching different audience segments, and the extension of the evening broadcasting schedule. Additional visibility was achieved through billboard advertising in prominent locations across the island, as well as an enhanced and more consistent presence on social media platforms, with regular reels, posts, and stories. Furthermore, discussions were initiated in 2025 regarding the development and launch of a new Campus 103.7 website, aimed at further strengthening the station’s digital presence.

In September 2025, Professor Andrew Azzopardi joined Campus 103.7 as a producer, bringing with him his widely followed discussion programme. Professor Azzopardi is a highly respected academic and public intellectual, well known for his sustained engagement in socio-political discourse and his strong commitment to journalistic integrity. He has an established reputation for producing insightful, balanced, and well-researched content on current affairs across both media and academic platforms. His collaboration with Campus 103.7 has significantly reinforced the station’s mission to inform, educate, and engage the public in matters of social relevance, education, and civic dialogue. Andrew fuq 103.7 has since become one of the station’s flagship programmes.

Additionally, in September 2025, a new full-time administrator was engaged to support the day-to-day operations of Campus 103.7. This appointment strengthened the station’s administrative capacity and contributed to more efficient management, coordination, and long-term planning.
