During the academic year 2024-2025, other than the mailings branded Newspoint Extra, our Office coordinated and disseminated several announcements to staff, students and alumni.
Apart from the mailings created by MCAO, the communications team serviced UM academic entities, directorates, and services wanting to disseminate information to staff and students at UM, as well as alumni. The mailings dealt with diverse areas spanning from alert messages such as car park temporary closures to details related to professional development for staff, from questionnaires related to students’ dissertations to events organised by UM. This strategy is implemented to ensure that the message is communicated efficiently and effectively, reaching the intended audience.
The mailings usually consisted of a banner image and text or a text-only message. On some occasions, image mailings with a concise message were disseminated instead of a text mailing; in this case, the image was created by the MCAO Designers.

In some cases, other than the mailings branded Newspoint Extra and announcements, our Office coordinated and disseminated several announcements via the My UM push notifications to UM staff and students. These push notifications are primarily concerned with events organised by UM. The push notifications usually consisted of a banner image and text or an image message with a link to full information; in the latter case, the image was created by the MCAO Designers.
